Summery beachside shadows. 

A couple sitting, looking out over the ocean under a shelter  that creates interesting shadows; and a different couple, also by the ocean getting their exercise done in the sunshine, creating shadows of themselves. Both choosing beautiful spots for their leisure.

Lines

We're back with our diptychs!

 A photo from both of us paired in a way that is pleasing to us. 

With a theme, we'll start with 'lines', we will post a diptych each week (or so). One from Leanne and one from Justine and then we'll start on a new theme...and so on.

January 2017

After a bit of a break we are back with a new project for Two Takes. 

As photographers we're fascinated by the idea that 2 people can be in the same place at the same time but notice & view things quite differently. We usually get together once a month, so each time we do we'll share a grid of 4 photos that show our different perspectives-2 photos from Justine & 2 from Leanne.

 This week we went to Nielson Park in Vaucluse where we swam, had coffee, sat on a rock in the shade, chatted, had some lunch & took some photos.

February on film

This month we have got our film cameras out, explored the non digital world and marvelled again at the wonderful hues and tones that film can produce. Don't you think the shot on the right by Leanne with the pebbles is fantastic? A beautiful study in film with no editing on the computer required. Leanne has used a Fujifilm instax 210 I have used a canon EOS 500.

Fences

A fence along the coast and a fence in suburbia both contain quintessential colours of the sand

Beach in B&W

We both love taking photos of water, so early morning rowers and surfers were the subject of this black and white diptych. Beautiful light and silhouettes.

Summer as the sun goes down

Picnics are packed away as the sun sets on the water and summer light makes for magical silhouettes.

Summer evenings

There's nothing better than an evening stroll along the beach, stopping to notice the detail, a feather or a shell, then perhaps some fish and chips for dinner. And the light is beautiful.
